Work Experience
- Practical experience in classical painting since 1974 A.D.; painted more than 800 Thankas of various sizes, including a 12’ × 8’ Surya Mandala (Thanka) by order, and other three-dimensional paintings on large stages (theaters).
- Decorative wall paintings for studio construction for “Little Buddha” in Kathmandu, an English film based on the life of Lord Buddha, produced by an Italian film producer.
- Wall painting at Vasundhara Temple, Swayambhu Buddhist Monastery (Monkey Temple).
- Painting activities in residential houses before performing prestigious religious functions.
- Taught art classes in Bhutan at the National Institute for Zorig Chusum for one month in December 2001 and again in August 2006.
- Participated in a demonstration program on mineral pigments for mural painting works at Tango Monastery, Bhutan, as part of cultural heritage preservation, organized by the Department of Culture and Dzongkha Development, Ministry of Affairs, September 2025.
- Participated as an instructor in the Abiding Heart Education Pauva Painting Course in collaboration with Khyentse Foundation, Delhi, India (27 November – 5 December 2022).
Awards Conferred
- First Prize (twice) in the All Nepal Thanka Painting Competition organized by the Royal Nepal Academy and Nepal Association of Fine Arts – December 1981 and December 1983.
- First Prize in the All Nepal Competitive Handicraft Exhibition organized by the Department of Cottage and Village Industries, His Majesty’s Government of Nepal – April 1988.
